The Brief:
Capture a single 1.5 minute shot of a man effortlessly gliding through a neighborhood on a skateboard.
Our Challenge:
Though the final shot feels simple, the technical demands were substantial. The actor rode on a low flatbed rig towed by a camera car, which had to be fully removed and replaced with a CG skateboard. We integrated CG trees, a hero butterfly moment, and subtle environmental changes—all in a continuous take. Drone LiDAR scans of five residential blocks provided the foundation for accurate object placement, lighting, and extensive paint work.
My Impact:
I led the CG effort from asset prep to final delivery, overseeing CG integration and environmental enhancements, including full road replacement and the addition of trees. I helped guide how our team leveraged drone data across departments to ensure consistent tracking and believable shadow interaction. Throughout, I focused on aligning the technical work with the tone of the piece—grounded, quiet, and emotionally resonant.
